This is one of those articles that do their best to confuse people as to whether they're being healthy or not. "Strenuous" and "Light" is different for everyone! This just puts people off in my opinion.

Why Do I Think Better after I Exercise?: Scientific American
Why Do I Think Better after I Exercise?: Scientific American:
Here's a timely article - one of the main reasons Paul and I started walking in the first place was to keep ourselves mentally on track - it's not just a theory, it really works.

It Didn't Happen Overnight, but it Did Happen
Well,
Here it is - the post I never thought I'd be able to make.
Last Friday I reached the goal weight set back in April 2012.
Weighed in at 79.8 kgs and I can't tell you how it felt, other than to say that I actually didn't believe it at first so tried again a little later and it's actually true. Here are some more stats:
Body Fat - 18.8%
Muscle Mass - 39.7%
BMI - 25
But I'm no taller.
I'm especially pleased because this last 5 kilos has been the most difficult to lose. I posted back in January when I was at 85kgs and stated the goal was to get to 80 in the first half of the year, so to actually make it is a great feeling.
The challenge now is to maintain the weight level and continue to transform the body composition. I may actually put on some weight again but it will be muscle instead of fat if all goes well. I have to also say a big thanks to the the team at Thrive Health and fitness who have helped me get there by managing a fitness regime that suited my situation. Also to the team at Pronto, many of whom also train and make the effort to look after their well being and have motivated me to keep going.
I'll post again shortly and share some more Runkeeper stats. Onward!

Number of obese Australians reaches 'staggering' proportions, says COAG report - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
Number of obese Australians reaches 'staggering' proportions, says COAG report - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation):
The hardest thing for many people (including me) was just starting in the first place. I partly blame the "health" industry for trying to sell quick results and miracle transformations. Steady lifestyle change can and does work, and starting slow is better than not starting at all. 20kgs, 12 months for me.

Slowly but Surely
Slowly but surely the goal weight figure gets closer.. now at 82kgs, hoping not too long now before there's a 7 as the first digit.
12 months ago this was but a dream.
All my pants are once again too big. Bad for the wallet but good in every other way.
Onward!
